Gourds
have been cultivated for thousands of years worldwide by many cultures
for their usefulness as utensils, storage containers, and as ornaments.
Many countries still use gourds as utensils, vessels and instruments
daily. |

| Gourds
mature on the vine in one growing season. They must then be dried
for one year before they can be made into art objects. When the gourds
are ready to use, each one is selected carefully to become a unique,
one of a kind art object. |

From
the Garden to the Gallery
My
studio expands as does my collection of gourds – in the house, on
the deck and in the yard! Gourds, gourds –everywhere – finished
gourds, gourds in progress, cleaned gourds, gourds that need cleaning!!
